Boston based The Pandora Consort, a dynamic force in early music, is excited to release an album of their sought-after concert program, Hildegard Reanimated: Vision in Vision (Hildegard Von Bingen) with a dedicated performance recorded in the stunning acoustic Sanctuary space at Epsilon Spires in Brattleboro, Vermont. The release is a collaborative effort of Sedimental, The Pandora Consort and Epsilon Spires with In-Situ Polyculture Commons who sponsored the performance in October of 2025.
The Pandora Consort explores the mystical visions of Hildegard von Bingen through her illuminations and music. Hildegard is an impressive figure in many regards; she was a theologian, philosopher, botanist, doctor, magistra (mother superior), and one of the first named composers of music. Hildegard experienced visions (“umbra viventis lucis” or “the reflection of the living light”) from the age of three up to her death, and many of her writings and illuminations are a result of these visions. Hildegard’s writings, visions, and music are inextricably linked in her life and philosophy. Taking inspiration from her life, Kendra Comstock, Angie Tyler, and Gina Marie Falk, weave them together in a voice and harmonium concert program focused on four of her most famous visions that influenced her spiritual philosophy. Working with visual artist Cate Duckwall to bring these visions to life, this concert features music from Hildegard’s vast oeuvre accompanied by artistic animations of key illuminations, creating a multimedia experience.
In its two-year touring history, Hildegard Reanimated: Vision in Vision has been has been featured by organizations and series such as Pegasus Early Music/New York State Baroque, Salon avec moi, Otter Creek Music Festival, Vermont Public Classical, SoHIP Boston, the Saint James World & Early Music Series, King’s Chapel Concert Series, Gotham Early Music Series (GEMS), In-Situ Polyculture, Off the Dock Chamber Festival, and Epsilon Spires’ GRRLS TO THE FRONT.

Biography
The Pandora Consort is an early music ensemble dedicated to reimagining classical music performance by integrating multimedia, interactive elements, and exploring historically under-represented repertoire. The Pandora Consort has developed four original concert programs, Vox Feminae, featuring stories of famous female heroines through female Baroque composers; The Witching Hour, a semi-staged program exploring women and witchcraft through repertoire spanning from Medieval to modern day; Hildegard Reanimated: Vision in Vision, a program of repertoire by Hildegard von Bingen accompanied by animated projections of her most famous divine visions; and The Fire Within Her, an original early music folk opera about women’s liberation in the United States.
The ensemble was founded by alumni of the Longy School of Music; Kendra Comstock, Angie Tyler, and Gina Marie Falk, and debuted their first program in the Summer of 2022, Vox Feminae with SoHIP Boston, showcasing compositions by female Baroque composers. Following their success with Vox Feminae, the Pandora Consort launched the annual Worlds Collide Series, a groundbreaking initiative that unites emerging musicians from diverse genres across Boston. This series encourages the creation of original genre-blending compositions while raising funds for local charities. Since their debut season, the Pandora Consort has continued to push the boundaries of Classical music performance, receiving grant support from the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust, the Mixtape Recital Series, and the Cambridge Arts Council.
The Pandora Consort has performed with Vermont Public Classical Radio, the Otter Creek Music Festival (VT), New York State Baroque and Pegasus Early Music Young Artist Series, SoHIP Boston Summer Concert Series, the Saint James World & Early Music Series (PA), King’s Chapel Concert Series (MA), Salon Avec Moi (NYC), Off the Dock Chamber Festival (NY), and the BEMF Fringe Series. The Pandora Consort also frequently collaborates with other musical ensembles and artists; such as the Nightingale Vocal Ensemble, Tutti Music Collective, and Silentwoods Collective. In the Summer of 2025, the Pandora Consort, was the ensemble-in-residence at the Portland Bach Experience, performing works of Hildegard and Bach throughout Southern Maine, and at the Sable Project in Vermont, leading workshops on shape-note singing. The ensemble is also committed to educating the public on lesser known early music repertoire and bringing early music to unconventional performance spaces, performing everywhere from basements, to bookstores, to homes and outdoor venues. In the 2026-2027 season, the ensemble is looking forward to releasing their first full length album of Medieval music and performing with Early Music Now (WI) and at the Early Music America Summit as part of the Emerging Artists Showcase in Seattle.
